I’m the Professor. Last time was the most low-key update ever, but this one is the biggest update yet. We’re talking roughly 500 new blocks!
📌 Key points this week
- About 500 new blocks
- Cybercity-themed pipes, neon signs and arcade machines
- Fences and walls now connect in T-junctions and crosses
- Four new trees (Apple, Camphor, Spiral and Frostwood)
- The Sallow Sapling frees you from hunting for Goldenwood
About 500 new blocks
Let me say this up front: there’s no Minecraft-style glass. Most of what was added are “phantom blocks” that already existed in the files but were held back on Early Access day one because of bugs, texture issues and the like. Open the Creative menu and you’ll find new tabs too — you’ll be saying “Whoa, that’s a lot!”
Cybercity building blocks
The real highlight is the iron pipe series. They let you push the setting in a slightly cyberpunk direction — perfect for a house that looks like a mad scientist lives there. Glowing blocks were added as a set, so you can have a lot of fun combining pipes and lights.
Cybercity Iron Pipe – Long and other pipe variants
Arcade Machine- Neon signs, scribbled-note posters, cardboard boxes and other lived-in props
This was called the “first wave,” so expect more sci-fi building blocks down the line.
Changes that make building easier
- Fences and walls now connect properly at T-junctions and crossroads (no more odd gaps)
- Roof blocks can connect more freely than before
- More tent designs
- Pillars can be placed sideways
New trees and saplings
Four new trees were added — Apple, Camphor, Spiral and Frostwood — and the Farmer’s Workbench can now craft more kinds of saplings.
The standout is the
Sallow Sapling, a sapling that grows into Goldenwood. Goldenwood is needed to tier up the Farmer’s Workbench, yet it was ridiculously rare and hard to find. Now you can grow it yourself!
Release info
Update 4 officially releases on March 26, 2026 (March 27 in Japan). If you can’t wait, enable the pre-release version in the launcher settings and you can play it now.
I can’t possibly show you all 500 blocks, so hop into Creative and see them with your own eyes. If you ask me, being able to grow Goldenwood is the biggest change of all.
