Hytale Update 4 Part 1: Multi-Instance, Mod Manager & World Restore

アップデート4 パート1まとめ|複数起動・MOD管理画面・ワールド復旧機能

I’m the Professor. Right after Update 3, the Update 4 pre-release kicked off! Rather than big new content, this round is mostly about laying the groundwork for what’s coming. It’s subtle for everyday players, but things are definitely getting better.

📌 Key Points

  • You can now run multiple instances of Hytale at once
  • A dedicated mod management screen in world settings
  • Backup management that lets you restore broken worlds from the UI
  • Fishing trap placement and more building freedom
  • Drop items by holding the drop button and using the cursor

To play the pre-release, select the pre-release version in the launcher settings.

Running Multiple Instances of Hytale

You can now launch multiple instances of Hytale at the same time. That means running a test world, testing mods and a filming camera side by side. Just be careful: opening the same world in two instances at once can corrupt your save.

A Dedicated Mod Management Screen

The world settings now have their own mod management screen. You can see each mod’s version, icon, details and compatibility at a glance. Older mods show a warning, but they mostly still work fine for regular play.

Restore Worlds with Backup Management

This is my personal favorite. You can now restore a broken world right from the menu. Rolling back time, regenerating corrupted chunks or restoring from a backup are all easy now. Far fewer tears over broken worlds, I’d wager!

For server owners, there’s also a new fallback server option that redirects players to another server when they get disconnected.

Changes That Matter to Regular Players

  • Fishing Trap Fishing Traps can now be placed in mid-air
  • Windows and tents no longer need support when building, making them easier to place
  • Chandeliers are easier to hang, and decorations like chains and needles were added
  • You can freely display weapons on things like lamps
  • Drop items by holding the drop button and using the cursor
  • Workbenches now show things like a crafting queue

Other Changes

Bug fixes for NPC freezes, broken portals, crashes and more. There’s also talk that voice chat is coming soon.

🧪
Professor’s note
Not many hype-worthy additions this time, but the world restore feature is a very important safety net. Building freedom also took a step up!
