Hytale Update 6 Part 6: Cinematic Camera & Trigger Volume No-Fly Zones

アップデート6 パート6まとめ|シネマティックカメラ実装・トリガーボリュームで飛行禁止エリアも

I’m the Professor. The headliners of Update 6 Part 6 are an upgraded Trigger Volume tool and the cinematic camera, which lets you create movie-like camera sequences.

📌 Key points this week

  • Animal sounds have changed
  • A cinematic camera for movie-style camerawork
  • Always Active added to Trigger Volumes
  • Set area-only restrictions like flight allowed, no placing/breaking, no harvesting

Warning: overusing the Entity tool can stop a world from opening

Since Update 6, KeniPoyo and friends’ usual studio world has been opening only some of the time. It seems to crash when loading areas heavily decorated with the Entity tool. The exact cause isn’t clear, so back up any worlds you care about (this crash was fixed as of Part 5).

Animal sounds have changed

The animals’ sounds have been changed. Have a listen in the video to hear what they sound like now.

Cinematic camera

A new feature (API) for movie-like camera sequences has been added. It looks great for boss entrance scenes, warp gate effects and the like. The way the camera slowly pulls back before a warp reminds me of a certain famous open-world game…

The Trigger Volume tool evolves further

Update 6 is all about the Trigger Volume tool. At first it only had a handful of event triggers, but now it can do a whole lot more.

This time the big one is Always Active. Combine it with other settings and you can put restrictions on players like these:

  • Flying allowed only inside the area
  • No placing or breaking blocks inside the area
  • No harvesting inside the area

It takes dungeon-making to a whole new level. Just one catch: it’s all in English, which is still quite a hurdle for Japanese players like us.

🧪
Professor’s note
Always Active could also be used to keep a server’s spawn area from being griefed, for example. It takes some figuring out, but it’s well worth a try.
