Hi! I’m KeniPoyo, the only person in Japan playing Hytale. The Halloween update is here! There are new Halloween cosmetics for your character, plus new Halloween furniture like pumpkin lamps and a bat plushie.
Halloween pumpkins and the wagon were already in the game from an earlier update, but the costumes only became wearable today. It looks like the Halloween cosmetics are switched on all at once from the server side, just like a proper seasonal event.

What the Halloween cosmetics look like
The new cosmetics include horns, masks and capes, and you can change into them from the character screen. The official shots show them off best, so take a look!
The Scarecrow Mask comes with its hat, so you’re a full scarecrow in one go.

Pair the Bat Mask with the Bat Wings Cape and you’re a bat. Horns come in different sizes and shapes and you can pick the color, including demonic horns and cute fairy horns with flowers. There’s a Vampire Cape too.
The Pumpkin Mask has 3 faces
My personal favorite. Orange, green and yellow, each with a different face. Very Halloween.
New variants for older cosmetics
- Witch Hat: with or without the buckle
- Top Hat: color just the band or the whole hat
- Goblin Hood: now has an unzipped version
- Leather Cap: can be worn backwards
Your edition decides what you get
This is the important part. Which Halloween cosmetics you can wear depends on your Hytale edition. The Pumpkin Mask and Bat Mask work on the Standard Edition, the Demonic Horns and Scarecrow Mask need Supporter or higher, and the capes and big horns are for the Cursebreaker Edition.
Start with a Pumpkin Mask, and if you want more, think about a higher edition.
New Halloween furniture
It’s not just costumes. There’s new furniture to make your base spooky too, all made at the Furniture Workbench.
- Pumpkin lamps: orange, yellow and green. Small pumpkin lamps made from 1 Pumpkin, 2 Sticks and 1 Charcoal. Use them to turn the light on and off
- Bat Plushie: 2 Cyan Cloth and 4 Plant Fiber. A goofy little bat that joins the Kweebec Plushie and Goblin Plushie
- Halloween Pumpkins: the big pumpkins from before can now be switched ON and OFF. Perfect for lighting them only at night
The Halloween Lights, Halloween Wagon and Halloween Pumpkin Basket are in the Seasonal tab of the Furniture Workbench too. Put them all together and your base looks great.
Bonus: Backpack Upgrade II has a new recipe
Not Halloween, but important. The Backpack Upgrade II recipe changed a lot.
- It’s now made at the Goblin Tinkerer’s Workbench instead of the Workbench
- The materials are 150 Scraps, 10 Spider Silk and 1 Voidtaken Grizzly Hide. No more Voidheart or Adamantite
- It’s no longer a Memories level reward

If you want the full Halloween set, now is a good time to upgrade your edition. You can upgrade from the Standard or Supporter Edition later.
