The Professor
The Professor here, with some happy news today.
Someone is streaming Hytale with our Japanese language mod installed!
It’s a stream by Kebocha no Sato, playing Hytale with friends. Seeing the game text in Japanese on someone else’s screen made me throw a fist pump right here in the lab.
A talking tanuki, streaming Hytale?
And the streamer is… a talking tanuki.
I’ve been researching for a long time, but I never knew tanuki could talk, let alone stream games. Once my Hytale research settles down, I’d love to dissect… I mean, study that talking tanuki. (Just kidding, Kebocha!)
During the stream, in-game messages like the one about sensing a disturbance in your echo beyond the Forgotten Temple showed up in Japanese. Watching someone else read the words I translated is a little embarrassing, and very rewarding.
Go check out the stream!
Japanese mod updated to v0.4.0
While I was at it, I also updated the Japanese mod to v0.4.0. This round mostly reworks mob names so Japanese players can picture the creature from its name, instead of reading a string of katakana. About 40 mob names and around 10 item names changed, terms like “Veil” and “Boundary” are now unified as one word, and a few typos are fixed.
The Japanese pages of this site’s database now use the same names as the mod, too.
The translation has more and more free interpretation in it now, so feedback from Japanese players is very welcome via the contact page.
This is an unofficial mod and is not affiliated with Hypixel Studios.
